Call For Paper
The Indian Journal of Climate & Environment Studies (IJCEMS) maintains a uniform and professional format for all submitted and published manuscripts. Authors are required to strictly follow the specifications below. Non-compliant submissions may be returned for correction before review or publication.
All manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. PDF files are not accepted for submission.
The document must be written in English, using clear, formal, and academic language.
The entire text must be in single-column format. Two-column layouts are not permitted.
Text alignment: All text must be justified (aligned evenly on both left and right margins).
Font: Times New Roman throughout the document.
Font sizes:
Title: 16 pt, bold, centered, Title Case
Headings (Level 1): 14 pt, bold
Subheadings (Level 2): 13 pt, bold, italics
Main text: 12 pt, regular
Footnotes and captions: 11 pt, regular
Line spacing: 1.5 throughout (including references and captions).
Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all four sides.
Page size: A4 (210 × 297 mm).
Paragraph indentation: No indentation; leave a single blank line between paragraphs.
Proper headers and footers must be inserted on all pages after the title page.
Header:
Left-aligned: Short Title of the Paper (maximum 50 characters)
Right-aligned: Page Number (in Arabic numerals)
Example:
Header (left): “Climate Change and Urban Heat”
Header (right): “Page 2”
Footer:
Centered on every page, the following line must appear in 11 pt Times New Roman, italics:

No other text, watermark, or logo should appear in the footer or header unless specified by the editorial office.
Title Page
Full title of the paper (16 pt, bold, centered).
Names of all authors in full (First Name, Middle Initial, Last Name).
Institutional affiliations for each author (use superscripts if multiple affiliations).
Corresponding author’s full contact details (postal address and email).
Example format for corresponding author:

ORCID IDs may be included if available.
Abstract
Between 150–250 words, single paragraph, no citations.
Summarize objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
Font: 12 pt, justified, 1.5 spacing.
Keywords (3–6) listed below the abstract in italics, separated by commas.
Main Text
Should include, in order:
Introduction → Methodology → Results and Discussion → Conclusion → Acknowledgments (if any).
Each major heading must be numbered (e.g., 1. Introduction, 2. Methodology).
Subheadings (e.g., 2.1 Study Area) should be in bold italics.
Use consistent numbering throughout the document.
Figures and Tables
Place each figure/table within the text, near its first mention.
Figures and tables must be numbered sequentially (Table 1, Figure 1, etc.).
Each must have a descriptive title or caption.
Table captions go above the table.
Figure captions go below the figure.
All figures and tables must be cited in the text (e.g., as shown in Table 2).
Figures should be high-resolution (minimum 300 dpi) and preferably black and white unless color adds meaning.
Tables should not contain vertical lines and should fit within page margins.
Equations
Use the Microsoft Word Equation Editor.
Center equations and number them consecutively on the right (e.g., (1), (2)).
Units and Symbols
Follow the International System of Units (SI).
Use italics for variables and normal text for units.
All references must conform strictly to APA 7th Edition style.
In-text citations:
Single author: (Patel, 2024)
Two authors: (Mehta & Shah, 2023)
Three or more authors: (Kumar et al., 2025)
Reference List:
Alphabetical by first author’s last name.
Hanging indent (0.5 inch).
Line spacing 1.5.

Acknowledgments:
Optional, should appear before References.
Acknowledge funding sources, collaborators, or data providers.
Appendices:
If included, label as Appendix A, B, etc., and place after References.
Footnotes:
Use sparingly. Insert at the bottom of the page, numbered consecutively.
Abbreviations:
Define at first use and maintain consistency throughout.
File Naming:
Save manuscript as: FirstAuthorLastName_ShortTitle.docx
Example: Shah_ClimateAdaptation.docx
Every manuscript undergoes a technical formatting check before peer review.
If non-compliant, authors will be asked to revise the document before proceeding.
Minor editorial adjustments (capitalization, punctuation, spacing) may be made by the IJCEMS editorial team to maintain layout uniformity.
By submitting their manuscript to IJCEMS, authors confirm that:
They have followed the formatting instructions in this policy precisely.
They authorize the editorial team to make minor non-substantive changes for uniformity.
They understand that formatting compliance is mandatory before acceptance or publication.
The editorial team reserves the right to reject or delay any submission that does not meet the policy requirements.
Note: Authors must include their assigned Tracking Code or Paper ID in all email subject lines related to the manuscript.
