Call For Paper
The Indian Journal of Climate & Environmental Studies (IJCEMS) is fully committed to the principles of open knowledge sharing, accessibility, and long-term preservation of academic research. We believe that scholarly work should remain available to the global community without barriers, and therefore we actively encourage authors to deposit and share their work in open repositories.
This policy aligns with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI), DOAJ best practices, and COPE’s publication ethics guidelines.
Authors publishing with IJCEMS are permitted and encouraged to self-archive all versions of their manuscripts — including the submitted version (preprint), the accepted version (post-peer review, before final formatting), and the final published version (Version of Record). There are no embargo periods. Authors may deposit their manuscripts at any time after submission or publication.
Depositing in repositories increases global visibility and enhances citation impact, allowing researchers, students, and policymakers to freely access your work.
IJCEMS maintains a strong commitment to digital preservation and sustainability. To ensure long-term accessibility and global visibility, we use a combination of Google Drive and Google Sites to host and distribute published articles directly.
In addition, IJCEMS uses Zenodo (operated by CERN and OpenAIRE) as an official repository and archiving platform. Each published article is assigned a unique DOI (Digital Object Identifier) through Zenodo, ensuring permanent availability, traceability, and interoperability with indexing services like Google Scholar, DOAJ, and DataCite.
Authors are also encouraged to deposit their articles in:
Institutional repositories (e.g., university libraries or research centers)
Subject-based repositories related to climate, environmental science, or sustainability
Personal or professional academic profiles, such as ResearchGate, Academia.edu, ORCID, or institutional websites.
When depositing a version of the article in any repository or website, authors must clearly indicate the publication details and license. The preferred statement is:
“This is an open access article published in the Indian Journal of Climate & Environmental Studies (IJCEMS) under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).”
Authors should include:
Full citation of the published paper
A link to the final version hosted by IJCEMS or its DOI on Zenodo
The CC BY 4.0 license information
These details ensure accurate citation, attribution, and transparency.
All articles published in IJCEMS are preserved indefinitely through the journal’s official Google-based archives and the Zenodo repository. This dual-preservation approach guarantees that even in the event of technical issues or platform migration, published content remains safely stored and freely accessible to the academic community.
The use of Zenodo also ensures compatibility with global indexing services and compliance with open-access mandates from funding agencies, universities, and research councils.
Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of metadata (title, authors, DOI, keywords, and publication details) when uploading to repositories. They should also make clear which version of the manuscript is being shared — whether it is the preprint, accepted manuscript, or published version — to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
By promoting transparent self-archiving and open dissemination, IJCEMS reinforces its mission to make climate and environmental research freely accessible to readers, researchers, and policymakers worldwide. Our repository and DOI framework ensures that every published article remains permanently discoverable, citable, and preserved for future generations.
