The Indian Journal of Climate & Environmental Studies (IJCEMS) is committed to ensuring long-term digital preservation, accessibility, and integrity of all published research.
Our goal is to maintain the permanent scholarly record of published content in accordance with best practices recommended by DOAJ, COPE, and the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
IJCEMS guarantees that all published articles will remain freely accessible and permanently available online.
To achieve this, the journal employs a multi-layered archiving strategy that ensures both redundancy and data security.
IJCEMS uses a combination of Google Drive and Google Sites to bring the journal to our readers and contributors.
Google Sites serves as the primary publishing platform, ensuring that articles, issues, and metadata are publicly viewable and easily navigable.
Google Drive functions as our secure cloud repository, where each article (in PDF and HTML formats) is stored in a structured and backed-up format.
Regular backups are maintained on institutional servers and verified for data integrity.
This dual system provides stability, redundancy, and accessibility from any global location.
All published files (PDF/HTML) are stored in multiple redundant locations, including local and cloud-based backups.
Backups are conducted monthly to prevent data loss.
Each published volume and issue is saved under unique digital identifiers and organized chronologically for easy retrieval.
To ensure permanent access, IJCEMS is in the process of integrating with open repositories and long-term digital archives such as:
The Internet Archive
Zenodo (CERN Open Data Platform)
Institutional repositories and university archives (upon partnership confirmation)
These measures will ensure long-term availability, even if the primary website undergoes changes or migration.
All published content is made available in PDF and HTML formats, ensuring compatibility with most digital readers and accessibility tools.
Future upgrades may include XML/JATS formats for enhanced indexing and metadata integration.
IJCEMS maintains open metadata for all published works, including author details, abstracts, DOIs (where applicable), and publication dates.
This data is structured for seamless inclusion in:
Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)
Google Scholar
CrossRef (in progress)
Other open indexing databases and repositories
The Editorial Office of IJCEMS (📧 ijces.india@gmail.com) is responsible for maintaining, updating, and verifying the availability and integrity of the archived content.
In the event of any platform change, a complete mirror copy of all data will be made available via open-access repositories.
Our use of Google Sites and Google Drive represents an environmentally sustainable, cost-effective, and globally accessible approach to open-access archiving.
By leveraging reliable cloud infrastructure, IJCEMS ensures continuous availability of scientific knowledge with minimal ecological impact.
Readers and authors can be confident that all published content will:
Remain publicly accessible without restriction
Be preserved in perpetuity
Retain its original citation and publication metadata
